Stuart + Viktorija

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Stuart & Viktorija at Houghton 1938, a timeless venue in the heart of Johannesburg. With its classic architecture and refined atmosphere, it was the perfect location for an elegant, classy engagement shoot.
Two Hearts, One Story
Two souls from completely different corners of the world, South Africa and Lithuania, found each other in the UK, where their paths crossed and their love story began. Now living in Bournemouth, they decided to bring that story full circle by returning to his home country, South Africa, to celebrate their engagement and later, their wedding day.
A Quiet Space with Classic Charm
Houghton 1938 is full of character, from the grand staircase to the soft natural light in the gardens. It has that rare mix of history and stillness, which makes it ideal for couples who want something more intimate and intentional.
The couple kept their style simple and sophisticated. She wore a satin slip dress that caught the light beautifully, and he went for a clean white shirt and fitted chinos. Together, they brought a quiet confidence to the shoot that was effortless to capture.
Photography that Feels Real, Yet Refined
What stood out most during this session was how present they were with each other. There was no overthinking or staging, just natural connection and easy moments. That’s the kind of energy I love to photograph. Honest, subtle, and full of feeling.
